    Faktor Risiko yang Berpengaruh terhadap Terjadinya Infeksi Saluran Kemih pada Pasien Rawat Inap RSUP H. Adam Malik Medan

    Tujuan: Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi terjadinya infeksi saluran kemih (ISK) di RSUP H. Adam Malik Medan.  Metode:  Sampel penelitian ini adalah pasien yang dirawat inap lebih dari 5 hari, memenuhi kriteria ISK simtomatik, dan tidak menggunakan kateter urin di RSUP H. Adam Malik Medan. Sampel diambil dengan menggunakan teknik consecutive sampling. Ada dua macam variabel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Variabel bebas penelitian ini adalah faktor risiko ISK, dan variabel terikatnya adalah infeksi saluran kemih. Pengolahan dan analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan program SPSS . Hasil : Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (i) tidak ada hubungan antara usia dengan kejadian ISK; (ii) tidak ada hubungan antara jenis kelamin dengan kejadian ISK; (iii) hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan antara lama berbaring dengan kejadian ISK; (iv) tidak ada hubungan antara faktor predisposisi dengan ISK; dan (v) tidak ada hubungan antara DM, HIV, penyakit ginjal dan penyakit autoimun dengan kejadian ISK. Artinya usia, jenis kelamin, faktor predisposisi, DM, HIV, penyakit ginjal dan penyakit autoimun bukan merupakan faktor risiko terjadinya ISK, sedangkan lama berbaring merupakan faktor risiko terjadinya ISK

    The background of this research is to describe the implementation of Microsoft Teams and what factors support and hinder the use of Microsoft Teams in MYP learning at SMP Brawijaya Smart School. Research on the use of Microsoft Teams in MYP learning at Brawijaya Smart School uses a qualitative approach, where this approach tends to lead to descriptive research methods with case study methods. The results of this research are: 1) Planning for distance learning using Microsoft Teams in SMP Brawijaya Smart School is carried out through systematic planning, both plans made by the school or the teachers in this case especially the teachers MYP, 2) Learning Implementation MYP using the Microsoft Teams app can be implemented using existing installations in Microsoft Teams from the Introduction, Core, and Closing activities. 3) Factors that support and hinder the use of Microsoft Teams in MYP learning at SMP Brawijaya Smart School, one of the supporting factors is that the teacher can use various features in Microsoft Teams and has received training at the beginning of its use. .     Improving the Students Reading Comprehension in Narrative Text Through Patterned Partner Reading

    This research aimed to find the use of Patterned Partner Reading strategy improve the students reading comprehension at the SMP Muhammadiyah Limbung. The researcher used A Classroom Action Research (CAR). The researcher had conducted two cycles, where each cycle consisted of four meetings. This classroom action research was one at SMP Muhammadiyah Limbung. As subject in this research was the second class with students' number as about 30 students consist of 7 man and 23 women. The instruments were observation sheet and test sheet. The research findings indicated that the application of patterned partner reading strategy was effective and significant in improving the students' reading skill especially students' reading comprehension. It was proved that the mean score of D-Test was 60.8, Cycle I 75.5 and after conducted Cycle II improved to 93 And based of mean score of students' reading comprehension during two cycle researcher found percentage improvement that is from D-Test to Cycle I is 24.17% and from Cycle I to Cycle II is 23.17 and D-Test to Cycle II 52.96%. It means that there was the improvement of students' reading comprehension on learning process

    Making Connections : A Teaching Strategy To Foster Junior High School Students’ Reading Comprehension

    Reading is the process of looking at a series of written symbols and getting meaning from them. When we ready, we use our eyes to receive written symbols (letters, punctuation mark and spaces) and we use our brain to convert them into words, sentences and paragraphs that communicate something to us. According to Spedell (2015), good readers make connections as they read.  They can relate the book to their personal experiences (text-to-self), to information from other texts (text-to-text), or from what they know about the world (text-to-world).  Making connections was linking what the students read, to what they already know.  This strategy helped students comprehend text, by activating their prior knowledge and making meaning of what they read. This research aimed at finding out the improvement of students in reading comprehension through making connections strategy to eleventh grade students of SMP N 3 Galesong Utara which refers to the familiarity of subject matter of the narrative text in terms of literal comprehension covering main idea and supporting details. The researcher applied pre-experimental design and VIII A class consist of 18 students with 5 men and 13 women as a research subject. The Result of this research was in main idea, the students’ mean score achievement in pre-test was 42.78 becomes 65.83. So, the improvement of students’ reading comprehension achievement from pre-test to post-test was 53.88%. In supporting details, the students’ mean score achievement in pre-test was 31.39, becomes 44.17. So the improvement of students’ reading comprehension achievement from pre-test to post-test was 40, 71%. And the mean score of students’ reading comprehension in main idea and supporting details in pre-test 37.08 becomes 55. So the improvement of students’ reading comprehension achievement from pre-test to post-test was 48.33

    Abstrak Etnografi komunikasi adalah pendekatan yang penting untuk meneliti pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia sebagai bahasa asing. Penelitian ini akan mendeskripsikan apa yang diperlukan seseorang untuk dapat berkomunikasi secara layak dan efektif dalam suatu komunitas wacana. Penelitian etnografi komunikasi yang peneliti lakukan berusaha mendeskripsikan tuturan mahasiswa Darmasiswa Undip 2010/2011 saat berinteraksi dengan penutur asli bahasa Indonesia. Penelitian ini menemukan tujuh bahasa, selain bahasa Indonesia, yang digunakan mahasiswa dalam interaksi. Bahasa Inggris adalah bahasa, selain bahasa Indonesia, yang paling sering digunakan mahasiswa. Alasan umum mahasiswa menggunakan bahasa Inggris adalah untuk membantu mitra tutur memahami apa yang mahasiswa maksud. Ada tiga belas pola pertukaran tuturan dalam interaksi. Pola [I] adalah pola yang paling mendominasi interaksi. Dalam interaksi perkuliahan, pola [I] sangat didominasi dosen. Sedangkan dalam interaksi nonperkuliahan, pola ini cukup sering digunakan mahasiswa. Berdasarkan analisis kuantitatif, peranan mahasiswa dalam interaksi perkuliahan sangat kurang. Sementara itu, dalam interaksi nonperkuliahan, peranan mahasiswa cukup banyak. Hal ini membuktikan mahasiswa kurang aktif dalam interaksi perkuliahan dan lebih aktif dalam interaksi nonperkuliahan. Mahasiswa melakukan berbagai strategi komunikasi untuk membuat interaksi lebih komunikatif. Penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa mahasiswa melakukan beberapa kekeliruan linguistik dalam berinteraksi.     THE EFFECTIVENESS OF COGNITIVE STRATEGY INSTRUCTION IN WRITING (CSIW) TO IMPROVE STUDENTS’ WRITING SKILL

    The skills of writing in English are believed to be essential for EFL students. However, the process of learning process is often considered very difficult by many students. One of the reasons is that the students are required to master a lot of conventions in writing, particularly on how they should develop ideas and organize them into a well-written paragraph. As a result, their scores in writing were low. The objective of this research is to investigate the effectiveness of Cognitive Strategy Instruction in Writing (CSIW) strategy to improve the students’ writing skill. A pre-experimental design was employed with one class of the tenth grade students at SMAN 6 Pinrang as sample. Cluster random sampling was applied to select the sample of one group pre-test and post-test design. The number of sample selected was 35 students. The data were obtained through writing test as were analyzed using statistical formula. The findings showed that the students’ mean score in the pre-test was 4.12 and it was improved to be 6.61 in the post-test. Therefore, the statistical computation described that Cognitive Strategy Instruction in Writing (CSIW) strategy was effective to improve the students’ writing skill in recount text. It was supported by the value of t-test that was bigger than the value of t-table (13.10> 2.032). Therefore, the alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted while the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected.AbstrakKeterampilan menulis dalam Bahasa Inggris diyakini penting bagi siswa EFL. Namun, proses pembelajaran menulis seringkali dianggap sangat sulit oleh banyak siswa. Para siswa memiliki ilmu yang masih sangat minim tentang bagaimana mengembangkan ide-ide dan mengaturnya menjadi paragraf yang ditulis dengan baik. Akibatnya, nilai mereka dalam menulis rendah. Mereka membutuhkan sebuah strategi untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis mereka. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas Instruksi Strategi Kognitif dalam Menulis (CSIW) untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain pra-eksperimental dengan mengambil sampel siswa kelas sepuluh di SMAN 6 Pinrang. Kluster random sampling diterapkan untuk memilih sampel tersebut dengan jumlah sampel sebesar 35 siswa. Data diperoleh melalui tes tertulis dan dianalisis menggunakan rumus statistik. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata siswa dalam pre-test adalah 4,12. Nilai tersebut meningkat menjadi 6,61 pada post-test. Oleh karena itu, hasil perhitungan statistik menggambarkan bahwa Instruksi Strategi Kognitif dalam Menulis (CSIW) efektif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis siswa khususnya dalam menulis teks recount. Hal ini didukung oleh nilai t-test yang lebih besar dari nilai t-tabel (13.10> 2.032). Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa hipotesis alternatif (H1) diterima, sementara hipotesis nol (H0) ditolak.Kata Kunci: Instruksi Strategi Kognitif dalam Menulis (CSIW), Keterampilan Menulis, Pembelajaran Menuli

    PELATIHAN PEMBUATAN MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN INTERAKTIF BERBASIS PREZI BAGI GURU

    Abstrak: Penggunaan media pembelajaran yang baik menjadi salah satu pilar yang mendukung keberhasilan pembelajaran. Prezi merupakan salah satu media yang menonjolkan fitur-fitur presentasi yang berbeda dari aplikasi lainnya dengan tujuan membuat pembelajaran menjadi lebih menarik. Kegiatan pengabdian ini difokuskan untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan guru-guru dalam mengembangkan media pembelajaran berbasis Prezi. Metode pengabdian yang digunakan adalah pelatihan dan pendampingan yang diberikan kepada 16 guru di MTs Muhammadiyah Mandalle secara luring. Tingkat keberhasilan pelatihan dilihat dari kemampuan peserta untuk menghasilkan produk berupa media presentasi interaktif menggunakan aplikasi Prezi, serta persepsi peserta terhadap pelatihan yang diperoleh melalui angket yang dibagikan di akhir pelatihan. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa 15 dari 16 peserta atau 93.75% guru telah mampu mengembangkan media pembelajaran interaktif dengan memanfaatkan fitur-fitur yang ditawarkan dalam aplikasi Prezi. Selain itu, peserta pelatihan memberikan persepsi yang sangat baik terhadap jalannya pelatihan ini. Pelatihan semacam ini diharapkan lebih banyak dilaksanakan agar guru dapat terus meningkatkan kompetensi mengajarnya dengan mengintegrasikan teknologi ke dalam pembelajaran di kelas.Abstract: The use of good learning media is one of the pillars that supports successful learning. Prezi is a media that highlights presentation features that are different from other applications with the aim of making learning more interesting. This community service activity focuses on providing teachers with knowledge and skills in developing Prezi-based learning media according. The method used is workshop and mentoring given to 16 teachers at MTs Muhammadiyah Mandalle offline. The success of the training can be seen from the ability of the participants to produce an interactive presentation product using the Prezi application, as well as the participants' perceptions of the training which is obtained through a questionnaire distributed to the participants at the end of the training. The results show that 15 out of 16 trainees or 93.75% of the teachers have been able to develop interactive learning media by utilizing the features offered in the Prezi application. In addition, the training participants gave a very good perception of the course of this training. It is hoped that more training of this kind will be carried out in the future so that teachers can continue to improve their teaching competence by integrating technology into classroom learning
